On December 11 2022, Anycubic, a well-known manufacturer of 3D printers, held its Anycubic X Yale Funbotics 3D Modeling & Printing Camp. In partnership with Yale Funbotics, the business launched its first educational incubator project with the intention of teaching kids about 3D printing technology and how to utilize Anycubic printer. The printing camp, which was also hosted in July and October, provided kids with an introduction to 3D printing technology as well as a general understanding of 3D modeling, slicing, and printer operations.

Educating children about Anycubic printer and 3D printing technology

A 3D printing education incubator initiative was launched by the firm in Shenzhen on September 2, 2020, and was driven by Anycubic’s mission of “For Freedom to Make.” The project represents Anycubic’s goal of empowering everyone to use 3D printing technology to finally experience the freedom of innovation and creation.

The Anycubic X Yale Funbotics 3D Modeling Printing Camps are designed for learners in grades 4 through 12. The majority of the camps took place online during Zoom and each lasted three days. On the first day of class, the students learned how to build the Anycubic printers (Kobra 3D printer), which are auto-leveling and user-friendly. Students gained an understanding of 3D printing technology after this assembling process.

Learners acquired CAD design modelling skills on the second day. In this section, mentors taught the learners the foundations of 3D printing, including how to build objects by slicing and printing things, and helped them solve everyday issues by constructing sophisticated goods

On the third day, students learned how to slice, print, and troubleshoot their own models. In this lesson, the kids learned that troubleshooting is an important part of the 3D printing process and that most print failures are just a result of not fully grasping the foundations of 3D printers. Students were encouraged to attempt again, adding more support, modifying the design’s measurements, and changing the printing temperature. This increased their happiness when the print eventually succeeded.
